The Detroit Lions Are Finally A Fully Active Team With All 53 Men Practicing

For weeks injuries have affected this team. Star players were missing time, role players in and out, limiting snaps with injuries. Now, that dark cloud of despair seems to be leaving the Detroit Lions. While everyone isn’t perfectly healthy, everyone who isn’t on the PUP or IR list is practicing and has a chance to play this Sunday against the Saints. Detroit needs these players to return around this time as a playoff push is happening. With a team healthy going into the postseason, it gives more confidence and momentum in these big games.

DeAndre Levy Return Still Up in the Air

Levy started practicing again and people jumped on the train of a return against Jacksonville. Didn’t play. Then they expected him to play against Minnesota, just four days later. Also didn’t play. So while he has more time to recover since the game on Last Thursday, Levy is still limited in practice with his knee injury. While he could return next week, don’t be shocked if he sits out again.

Theo Riddick and Ziggy Ansah Limited, Should be Active

We have seen this for weeks. Ziggy and Theo both limited in practice and they end up playing. Expect them on the field like normal on Sunday.

Don Carey Still Limited

Carey is still dealing with that nagging hamstring injury, limited again in practice on Wednesday. He plays mainly on special teams so with his play time being small, he could play through the pain like Riddick and Ansah have been.

Marvin Jones Returns To The Report

Marvin is dealing with a new injury, a thigh injury that made him limited in practice. Marvin has been limited many times this year with many different injuries, but hasn’t missed a game yet. Don’t expect him to want to sit out while this team needs everyone to win the division for the first time since 1991.

Tahir Whitehead Makes First Appearance

Whitehead made his debut on the injury report this week. While limited in practice, he is dealing with a knee injury as well. If this was a big deal then Detroit would have made a move to sign a linebacker with Whitehead possibly missing time. Whitehead should be a go on Sunday.

New Orleans Saints Injury Report

While the Lions only have players limited in practice, the Saints had some people miss practice on Wednesday. Offensive tackle Terron Armstead missed practice with a knee/quad injury after being carted off the field on Sunday. He has missed five games this year with a knee injury, so his presence is questionable for Sunday to say the least. Running backs Mark Ingram and Daniel Lasco missed practice as well, Ingram with a toe injury and Lasco with a hamstring injury. Ingram played last week so this could just be a precaution as they rest him and give him the day off. Three other players were limited in practice, guard Senio Kelemete, tight end John Phillips and offensive tackle Zach Strief.
