Staff Writers’ Mock Draft – Round One

Merry Draftmas Eve! With only one more day before the 81st edition of the NFL Draft, four of our DetroitLionsPodcast.com writers have put together our first annual Staff Writers’ Mock Draft predicting how we think the first round will go. A preliminary note, we did these mocks with no projected trades. Some of us expect there to be a few trades early on like Tennessee moving back up inside the top ten, or Miami moving back up to grab Ezekiel Elliot.

As for the Lions pick at 16, we have them choosing Vernon Butler, Sheldon Rankins, and Taylor Decker. All of these players fit current needs, and have been players that the Lions have studied, interviewed, and met with over the course of the past few months. Let us know what you think, all opinions are welcome unless you believe the Lions should select Laquon Treadwell with the 16th pick. In that case, keep it to yourself.
