Ep: 72 – Lions Look To The Redskins – The Detroit Lions Podcast

In this episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris and Case break down the latest and most important Detroit Lions news, find joy in the Rams game, talk about the Redskins with /u/thehbrwhammer, and talk about the team’s performance, the state of the coaching staff, how the team is using the practice squad, and more with the Riz this week.

During ‘This Week In Reddit’, we continue our “Countdown for Caldwell”, discuss Calvin Johnson and his chances for the Hall of Fame, the massive amount of Stafford love that people are spreading around, Teryl Austin’s overlooked stat, and What happens in LA media when they talk about the Lions. Of course Nathan Cheatham provides our Fantasy Football Update, and Case takes us for a trip ‘Around the Division’ to bring us up to date on the latest breaking NFC North news.

Lastly, we dive into a fun segment that’s always been a fan favorite, “Counterpoint”, and have a great discussion about the Washington Redskins with a highly esteemed member of the Redskins subreddit  /u/thehbrwhammer.  He does a good job breaking down the match-up from their side of the field.

We are joined by a very special guest from the Detroit Lions organization, Tori Petry.  Tori takes time to talk about her role as cornerback on the Detroit Dark Angels semi-pro football team, and what its like to cover the Lions from the inside. She also takes a look at the Lions roster and breaks it down on both sides of the ball.  Tori also talks about some of the great charitable work the Lions are doing around Detroit, and answers a couple of great questions from our Patreon supporters. It’s a great segment, and Tori shows why she is so well liked and respected in football circles.

This week, ‘The Riz’, joins us for an in-depth analysis of the Rams game, and looks forward to the big game against Washington.  We also talk about Bob Quinn and how he uses the practice squad differently than the team has in the past.
