Detroit Lions Crossing The Summer Hump
In this episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris and Jeff react to the happenings over the course of the summer for the Detroit Lions. We’re half way through the dog days of the NFL summer and the Detroit Lions are quietly poised to make some big moves during the 2023 NFL season. The Lions have upgraded almost across the board positionally, and have put their rookies through the paces to see what they have to work with in each player. While there is still activity in Allen Park, the pace is slower now for the players and coaches ahead of the run-up to reporting back to camp. Detroit Lions coaches return on July 18th, rookies on July 19th, and veterans report to camp on July 22nd with the first publicly open practice to occur on July 29th.

In this episode we’re going to discuss a few interesting Detroit Lions items including, why haven’t the Lions signed Jahmyr Gibbs yet? Should we be rioting outside of the Allen Park facility, or is there something less worrisome at play? We’ll also discuss the Detroit Lions cap situation from a near-term and long-term perspective – provide a little context for fans and help them understand how Brad Holmes has set the Detroit Lions up for the future.
