Detroit’s Week Four Injuries Are Bigger In Size, But Players Are Getting Healthy.

While the hearts of many fans around the Detroit Lions fanbase are still hurt, the team itself is getting back to 100% slowly. The injury report grew in size from week two to week three, and it did the same from three to four. The good news though is that many of the players are either limited in practice or practicing fully and should be good to go on Sunday. There have been some questions with the injured players, so let’s see what the latest update is on everyone.

Kenny Golladay And Dwayne Washington Miss Thursday’s Practice

After missing week three, no surprise to see Dwayne Washington missing practice due to his quad injury. Washington will most likely be out again on Sunday.

A questionable pop-up came on Wednesday as Kenny Golladay reappeared on the injury report with a hamstring injury. While he was limited on Wednesday, he didn’t practice on Thursday. No word of why Golladay went backward in progress, but he hasn’t missed a game yet with his hamstring injury, expect him to play on Sunday.

Ziggy Ansah And Don Carey Return To Practice On Limited Basis

Ziggy Ansah had the day off on Wednesday and returned to practice on Thursday, again, on a limited basis. Ansah should be good to go on Sunday as him being limited in practice is the norm so far this season.

Special teams star Don Carey missed practice on Wednesday due to a knee injury, but Carey was able to return to practice on a limited basis on Thursday. Since Carey mostly plays special teams, expect him to play on Sunday.

Jarrad Davis And Tavon Wilson Limited In Practice; Could Return Sunday

Jarrad Davis is now in stage four of five when it comes to concussion protocol. In order for Davis to play on Sunday, he must practice fully on Friday. So far Davis has been limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday, an improvement from the previous week where he missed practices. Odds are he will be cleared and ready to go.

Tavon Wilson has returned to practice this week as well, but he is still wearing a red no-contact jersey, which is a sign that he might need more time to recover from his shoulder injury. With him practicing with the red jersey still on, that could mean another week of rest for the starting safety. At this rate, he could be a game-time decision.

TJ Lang And Zac Kerin At Opposite Ends On Injury Report

TJ Lang missed practice on Wednesday due to a “fibula” injury. No word on what that meant as many people fans and even beat reporters were wondering what that meant. Lang was back at practice fully on Thursday, so whatever injury he had it seemed to just need a day of rest and he will be able to play.

Zac Kerin started last week at left tackle with Travis Swanson out and Graham Glasgow moving to center. Kerin wasn’t hurt on Wednesday, but on Thursday he was limited with a knee injury. As it seems like Swanson will return, Kerin might not be rushed back as a backup guard.

Jamal Agnew, Glover Quin, Travis Swanson, And Anthony Zettel All Now Fully Participating In Practice

All of the players listed above were limited in practice on Wednesday, now returning full-time on Thursday. Glover Quin played the entire game, so he could have played through the pain, but it seems that he has recovered his knee. Jamal Agnew injured his pelvis during the game, answering the question of why Golden Tate was out returning punts late in the game, but he will be back as well.

Travis Swanson missed last week with an ankle injury and with him returning fully he will be back starting at center. Anthony Zettel banged up his knee during the game and while he did return, he still was hurt. Now a few days later he seems to be healed and able to play.

Joe Dahl Heads To IR

Bad news came into Detroit on Tuesday as the team announced that backup guard Joe Dahl would be placed on IR with a lower leg injury. Nobody knows how the injury occurred, but Dahl was inactive for the week three game, forcing Zac Kerin to start. With Dahl out, the Lions signed Tim Lelito to replace Dahl.

Minnesota Vikings Injury Report

The big question coming into Sunday would be if Sam Bradford would play after dealing with a knee injury and on Thursday, the team announced that Bradford would miss the game, so Case Keenum will start for Minnesota again on Sunday.

The only other injury to report for Minnesota is starting offensive tackle Mike Remmers as he didn’t practice on Thursday due to an illness. Now depending on the sickness, he may be able to play through it, but if it is serious enough he could miss the game. I expect him to be on the field come kick-off.
