Ryan Nall is a strong runner in the 2018 NFL Draft with good hands that could find his way onto the field in passing situations or in short-yardage situations.

Ryan Nall runs tough between the tackles. He’s a hard runner that doesn’t shy away from contact and maintains consistent leg drive to finish runs. He is a bigger back that has good balance and shows the ability to both run through and bounce off tacklers. His ability to fight between the tackles makes him a possible contributor in short yardage situations early in his career.

Nall has average vision. He doesn’t miss running lanes very often, but he doesn’t always recognize cutbacks, but he has good anticipation and a good understanding of the flow of the defense. His lack of lateral agility limits his ability to utilize cut back lanes when he finds them.

Ryan Nall has very good hands and has shown the ability to catch the ball away from his frame. He adjusts to poorly thrown balls well, and secures passes through contact. His route running will need work at the next level, and his athletic profile doesn’t suggest that he will ever be an elite route runner at the position, but even adequate route running with good hands will likely get him some looks in the passing game, especially since he has shown to be above average in pass protection.

Ryan Nall has below average lateral agility and doesn’t have much in the way of elusiveness in open field. He has shown the ability to minimize contact with subtle moves but doesn’t do so on a consistent basis. He is more of a straight line runner than an elusive one. He probably isn’t going to win in the NFL with his juke moves.

While his lateral agility is below average, Ryan Nall has shown adequate burst and uses it well around the line of scrimmage. He shows good patience and utilizes his burst to get to the hole when he recognizes a running lane.

Ryan Nall has a couple of different routes to playing time early in his NFL career. He has shown to have ability as both a receiver and a blocker, offering value on passing downs. He also is a strong, tough runner that has shown the ability to pick up yards after contact, offering value in short-yardage situations. He isn’t the flashiest player, but his ability in those two areas offer him the opportunity to see early playing time in the NFL.
