In this series I’ll be going over who I think will be the top 20 impact players for the Lions in 2018, next up is Glover Quin.

Quin has been Mr Reliable for Detroit since he signed in 2013. In fact, he has been one of the best acquisitions the team has made in recent years in my opinion. When the defense needs a play to be made you can bet that Quin will be involved in that play somehow. His four forced fumbles lead the league at the defensive back position, showing his potential to make plays happen. Each fumble was an integral part of each particular game as well. He also got three interceptions, making his total turnovers seven. That is a fantastic figure which anyone in the league would consider a good return for a season.

He is also a defensive leader and a veteran on a team which is quite young. Especially his unit with most of them being within their first few years in the NFL. Having a veteran presence in the locker room, especially one of Quins quality is hugely beneficial.

On the field, throughout his career he has been a playmaker. This transitions to his impact as a player for the Lions, one that will be prominent next season. He’ll be the player that Matt Patricia leans on when the game is in the hands of the defense. Especially when there are three safeties on the field and he is given a bit more freedom to do what he wants and read where plays will go.
