Detroit Lions Preseason Wrap-up
In this episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris and Jeff react to the Detroit Lions preseason game against the Carolina Panthers. Detroit Lions fans have been whipsawed a bit this preseason with a fun win against the New York Giants, a tougher week of practice and game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and lastly the most recent win over the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte. With the Panthers starting their first team players against the Detroit Lions second team, we saw one of the best tests of the Detroit Lions depth of the preseason. The strength of the Detroit Lions depth showed itself by holding the Panthers to a field goal and a touchdown before they left the game.
Detroit Lions Podcast Preseason Coverage Continues
The Detroit Lions offense were able to play a strong game against like-level players from the Carolina Panthers and in the end were able to put the points on the board required to pull the win out in Carolina. Now the question goes to Detroit Lions GM Brad Holmes and head coach Dan Campbell – who makes the 53, and who do you think can survive a cut and land on the practice squad. With 16 players on the practice squad the Lions have a number of options for developmental players, but there is always the risk of a team picking up one of your prospects in the time between naming the 53 and landing your players on the practice squad.
