Air quality is awful across the Mitten State, so please be careful if you're gonna be outside today. Obviously, the fires are going on. It's it's not great, but football persists. Today's daily is gonna focus on a thing that came across my social media feed. It was actually sent to me by, the company itself as well, PFSN, the Pro Football Sports Network. They are you know, they've been around for a little bit. They used to be PFN. It might be how you know them. I know their draft analyst, Ian Cummings. He's very good guy. Very good analyst. I respect him a lot. And they have come out with their top 100 players. You know, the NFL Network is doing theirs. The Lions have some representation there. But, what interested me with this one, and I will pull it, I will pull up the top 100 from PFSN here. Profootballnetwork.com/nflhq/top100players. There's dashes in between all the words. And, the number one player is Josh Allen. Not unexpected. Number two, Lamar Jackson. Now, they, most represented teams. This is where I want to get to. The Philadelphia Eagles have nine. The Detroit Lions are second with seven players in their top 100. Texans are third. Forty niners are right there as well. Rams are fifth. Broncos sixth. Scroll down a little bit. They give the top 13. Ads are blocking what I can see here, but, you will notice the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks are not there. The team they beat in the Super Bowl, the New England Patriots, are not there. Talent matters, but it isn't a guarantee that you're going to win. You have to execute. You have to be healthy at the right time. Gotta take advantage of situations. The lions, and look at the other teams up there. Also, the eagles, the texans, the forty niners, even the rams, Broncos, Cowboys, Ravens. They couldn't get it done when they needed to get it done, and the Seahawks and the Patriots did. Sometimes, it's not necessarily about having the most talent. It's about having the best team. We've seen there are so many examples of this in the NBA and in baseball and in hockey where the Eisner plan has crashed and burned. Great players don't always make great executives. Unfortunately, Steve Eisnerman learned that the hard way. That was your hockey minute. I don't know enough about hockey, contemporarily, to, to discuss ideas for replacing Steve Iserman, but I'm happy that the Red Wings did what they did. They needed they needed a change. It wasn't going anywhere. Spinning wheels. I don't think the lions are spinning their wheels. I think they have a lot of talent, but I think that they have to stay healthy and they have to execute better as we get going on. Now, there are other parts to this as well, but I want to show if I can.

Speaker 4: Where the talent lives. Let's look at Detroit. Detroit has Penny Sewell, OT one. Take that, Mike Clay. Number four overall. Not a problem with that. Aidan Hudgens, number 12. Jamir Gibbs, number 18. I'm on round number 20. That is one, two, three, four players in the top 20. Tell me the lions don't have talent to compete. Key star players. Star players at key positions. Especially now that Pena is moving to the left side. Although, I do think that the this the importance of the left tackle versus the right tackle is tends to be overrated. You gotta have good on both because where's Aidan Hutchinson rush against? He goes against the right tackle a hell of a lot more than he goes against the left tackle. Will Anderson in Houston does that too. He's in the top 20 as well. TJ Watt almost never goes against the left tackle. He's been great for a very long time. Miles Garrett moves around quite a bit but then we get to Jared Goff at number 53, quarterback 10. Yeah. That that that that checks. Goff's very, very good at what Goff does. It's not necessarily what every other team's quarterback does. But if Sam Darnold can win or more to the point, if the Seahawks can win with Sam Darnold and the supporting cast that they had, you better believe Sharikoff can get this line seem over the top. He is not the inhibiting factor. I don't understand that narrative at all. Makes no sense to me. Now, if they ask them to do different things, then we're gonna have a different conversation. They don't ask him to do RPOs. They don't ask him to make a lot of tight window throws. Not that he would anyways. Cielo Porta at 87. It's and it they talk about it in the analysis here. Having missed eight games in 2025 due to injury, Seattle Porta's production fell to career lows in his third year in the NFL. However, on a per game average, his 54.3 receiving yards per game was the highest he's had since entering the league, including his stellar Pro Bowl rookie season in 2023. Still a very good player. Jack Campbell, 95. LB four, that's a first team all pro. And I get that he's coming up. Didn't necessarily make the most impact plays. Although, they have a thing at PFSN called the impact score. And on in 2025, Jack Campbell had the highest PFN, the linebacker impact score, of any linebacker in the NFL. I misread that. That's my fault. There was not them editing those. My reading port skills were poor. What else do the all these guys have in common other than golf? They're all young. They haven't all hit their peaks yet. Amon Ra is getting to the point where he's probably at his peak. But he's gonna get better, believe it or not. Gibbs can get better. It's crazy to me how good this Lions team is at talent. Now, the bottom end talent, it's gonna have to rise up, but I love what I see from the top end of the Lions talent here. And, I would encourage you all to, go in look at PFSN's top 100. I will show you just by way of comparison. Let's look at the Seahawks, the Super Bowl champs. They have three. Jackson Smith and Jigba. Yeah. He good. Leonard Williams, great acquisition. Very, very good player. Incredibly disruptive interior player. And Sam Darnold, QB twelve at number 71 overall. They won the Super Bowl with that. With by being healthy. By having defensive players who made key plays. Lions didn't make enough key plays. They have the talent to do it. Just a matter of getting it done. Let's look at the NFC North for giggles and crap. Let's look at Green Bay. Green Bay has four. Micah Parsons, who's gonna be injured for some time. He is our version of Brian Branch.

He's a really good football player. Really good tackle, and it's unfortunate that he plays for them. Was a guy that Chris and I really liked when we talked to him at the Senior Bowl a few years ago. Joe Tooney, o g three, number 65, and Kayla Williams, QB 15. Okay. That seems to be based aspirationally more than empirically, but alright. He's he certainly has that potential. Will not deny that with Ben Johnson as his coach. I'm not gonna that seems fair. And then, the Vikings have two. They have Justin Jefferson, wide receiver four at number 16, and Edge 12, Andrew Van Ginkel at number 99. I like Andrew Van Ginkel a lot. I think he is a very I haven't looked to spoiler. I haven't looked at the entire top 100. He'd probably be higher on mine if I had to do it, if I were thinking about it. But, you know, he did miss some time in the injury last year, so that's where they're at. So there's a couple of points here that you wanna say. Talent matters, but being a good team and being healthy, making key plays matters more. The fact that the two Super Bowl teams from last year, neither one of them is in the top 12 and top 100 players on their roster. And one player, one from those teams, Jackson Smith and Jigba, is ranked above any lion. That's it it is ranked above the in the top 20. That that's don't tell me the lions don't have enough talent to get it done. There are other issues. Health, timeliness, coaching. Dan knows. He knows.
