What the moneyline numbers mean
A moneyline is the price to pick a winner in football gambling. It is not the spread. A minus number is the favorite. A plus number is the underdog.
If a team is listed at -100, a $100 wager on that team returns $100 profit if it wins, plus the original $100. If a team is listed at +100, a $100 wager returns $100 profit if it wins. A number such as -298 means you risk $298 to win $100. A number such as +240 means a $100 wager wins $240 if that team wins.
