Sandman Releases New Video on Zach Zenner

Cue the dramatic music and sit back and watch today’s newly released Sandman highlight reel. This time he highlights second year Detroit Lions running back Zach Zenner.

Sandman’s compilation mimic’s the brevity of Zenner’s rookie season. He highlights the best plays before the painful Chicago Bear’s sandwich that cost him his rookie season. The video provides just over 2 minutes of hope as to what Zenner could bring to the Lions this season.

According to Sandman’s YouTube channel he has over 150 videos highlighting the Lions over the past 4 years. His channel boasts nearly 5,500 subscribers and over 3.7 million views. You can follow Sandman on twitter or liked on Facebook. He also posts regularly in the Detroit Lions subreddit.

During the Chicago Bears game last October Zenner collided with rookie safety Adrian Amos and Pernell McPhee after a 7-yard run in the second quarter. At the time he was number two on rushing yards with 60 on 17 carries.

The collision caused four of his ribs to break in five different places, and caused a partially collapsed lung. He maintained after the collision that he felt he had gotten the wind knocked out of him but could be back on the field for the next game- until the Lions put him on injured-reserved and signed George Winn off the practice squad.

According to the Detroit Lions website, Zenner,

“earned a roster spot following a 2015 preseason in which he led the NFL in rushing yards and also recorded two touchdowns. [Joining] a talented running back group led by veteran RB Theo Riddick and fellow second-year Ameer Abdullah.”

Sandman’s compilation of highlights show the speed and agility Zenner has on the field, as well as his pass catching ability. Zenner will be an important player to keep an eye on during the the Lions season with his great potential.
