Not not not Detroit as much, although I think they did use the same basic staging, but they're, there seems to be fewer people, like, physically capable of being in the draft area than there was in Detroit.

And and in my eyes, nothing has changed from yesterday, from what I heard last night, from what could happen, from what I think might happen. Like, I don't know. Okay. I will, I will reiterate because I'm sure that the people want to know. So last night, as I was going to bed, I got a text from a very good reliable source. This is the person who told me a year ago that Tylik Williams would be the pick. It was a person that two years ago told me they were trading up for Terry on Arnold, although that wasn't necessarily exclusive information. That was K. And he told me that they were looking to move way up and might have a deal with a team in the top eight, and it would be for an edge

Speaker 2: Not an offensive lineman. And, so, actually, I I I take that back. He he didn't put a name or a position with it, and I said, oh, that's Caleb Downs territory. And he said, that's not what I'm hearing. Oh. So

Speaker 1: Well, how about that?

Speaker 2: Yeah. Which, you know, I I would freaking love Caleb Downs. You could never have too many Caleb Downs on your team. But, if it happens, we will know, around, like, an hour from now. Less than an hour. They've shortened the time on picks to eight minutes, mercifully, which has been Right. Fantastic. Might get to bed tonight, which would be wonderful.

And, Mac Mac, was a guest of the he he he's worked for me for a long time. He now works for the Cleveland Browns. He's in their, he's their radio chief radio engineer for the broadcast among other things that he does. And, so I I I trusted him with it as well. So if it happens, I'll be like, yeah. I get it right. I got good information once again. If it doesn't happen, I'll reveal it after, you know, what what's going on. But it is one of those things where there are a couple of moving variables to it. One of them being that Jeremiah Love has to go off the board before this team comes on the clock was the biggest conditional one. Okay. But, again, like I said, I don't I didn't change my my final mock. I still think that if Monroe Freeling is on the board, he's the pick. If he's not, it'll be Blake Miller. But that's that's where I'm at.

You listen to how he plays. You listen to all of the, you know, the the consistency with which he played, all of the games and the experience and everything he put on tape and the way he's regarded by his teammates. I'm like, oh, that's a lion. And it it'd be a a touch underwhelming, but, man, he just sounds like a lion. So, you know, I mean, you know, I started with the Utah boys. Both of them. I'm like, I don't know. Take one of them any. Now I've talked myself out of both of them. Like, I

And the one the one that always gets me that and to go into a radio studio thing. I met Ben Wallace. He came in the studio Oh, boy. He's not much bigger than not much taller than me. He is certainly bigger than me. But I'm like, he's he's probably six seven, six six and a half, but, obviously, very, very muscularly built and, was clearly, like, somebody that you didn't wanna fool with.

Speaker 1: So now that we're on now that we're on the Jets, this is kinda where the draft starts. Right? Because we you know, what they do at pick two and the fact that I I still think going back, Jeff, to what we did two days ago Yep. Pick fifteen and sixteen, 15 specifically, just feels like their phone's gonna melt If this thing falls the way it did for us when we were working with Bish Oh, yeah. And there are a couple of those offensive line prospects available, guys are gonna be wanting to get in front of the Lions. So what they do here with this pick matters. And then, again, at fifteen, it's gonna be it feels like it's gonna be really important at six and at 15 for the Lions prospect. Okay. Just because like I said on our our March show, I think Cleveland whatever Cleveland's gonna do is gonna screw it up. They're gonna they're gonna screw up everybody's plans.

So it started as Arville Reese, and then it very strongly flipped to being David Bailey. And then people started to rethink it and try to make it back, and, he kinda played into that mystery himself. But yeah. Another one where this was coming out of the combine, We knew it was gonna be Reeser Bailey. I don't I don't think that changed at all. But the fact that it's Bailey and that he was connected to the Jets is, this this isn't something new or surprising.

And then he went cold. He went ice cold in the draft, and he he admitted that that's when he started drafting for need and and got away from just taking good football players. Them going to 32, needing a running back and taking a running back because they need a running back, I mean, maybe, picks in, but but that sure feels like just a pure, we're gonna stay here and get a guy for the backfield if that's what they do.

And it's wild because I'm thinking about the shifting expectations of, you know, people expect more, and people are not as high on this as you are, Riz. And you're you're you're singing the song. Speaker 1: up? They went into the off season with the biggest glaring need on the offensive line. They've addressed it in free agency. Now they've addressed it in the draft. Everything else is in my mind, it's about the defense now. So you start addressing that tomorrow at 50 or with some combination of trades and on through, with with whatever else you've got to add some depth and some playmaking to that defense. And then, you know, you're right you're right there in contention. You're playing a fourth place schedule. There's no reason they can't go out and win a bunch of games. But they gotta get it right tomorrow, and they gotta get some help for the defense.
