This is the Week 4 referee assignment for the Detroit Lions against the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium on Sunday at 8:20 p.m. ET.

Clay Martin has the whistle Sunday. Football Zebras and the assignment feed both put him on the Lions and the Panthers. He wears No. 19.

Through 3 games this season the crew has 36 flags for 269 yards. Cincinnati at Pittsburgh was 11 flags for 77 yards. Philadelphia at Tennessee was 11 flags for 80 yards. Denver at Kansas City was 14 flags for 112 yards.

In 10 meetings the Lions have been flagged 6 times a game. Their own rate in those seasons is 5.92, an index of 101. That is about what they usually draw, not a crackdown. The Panthers, in 10 meetings, sit at 7 against their own 6.1, an index of 115. They have drawn more than usual under this crew.

The most active afternoon was the Week 16 of 2023, Washington at New York. 22 flags for 218 yards, and the final was 28 to 30. The league rate on that log is 12.64 flags a game. One game, not a habit, and not a claim that the crew led the week.

As of October 2, 2026.
