Speaker 2: Hey, everyone. It is Wednesday, April 22. One day from the twenty twenty six NFL draft in Pittsburgh. Got the shirt on from, the Detroit. I got the hat on from the first draft that was in Chicago, the first time I was on the road. Been to, quite a few of them. That was, it's the first one that traveled out. This year, it's in Pittsburgh, obviously. I will not be in Pittsburgh. I will be live streaming the draft with you and Chris. We'll have a little draft soiree going on, so make sure you check that out. Wanted to go over mock draft, final mock drafts, but I wanna do a little bit differently. And I wanted to present a bunch of different mock draft scenarios that are viable for the lions because there are any number of different ways that they can go, picking seventeen, fifty, one eighteen, and one twenty eight. And those are the only picks that I covered in these scenarios. Just because when you're getting beyond that, it's it's very unpredictable. Just one thing before we get into these scenarios, I did not do any trades in these. That also seems unrealistic, quite frankly, but it would be compromising to the integrity of the exercise if I did trades in some and not in others. So I just left them all where the lions are staying pat, and it is more about exploring different options that the lions at each of those picks. And if you want, you can combine, like, one player from one, one player from four, one player from six, and one player from two, if you want. Like, mix and match with that. And I think these are, these are designed to be that way. So let's bring up scenario one. And this is just because I wrote it first. It doesn't necessarily mean that it's the most likely. But in scenario one, the Lions at 17 take Blake Miller, offensive tackle from Clemson. At 50 in the second round, Derrick Moore, Edge Michigan. Fourth round, the first pick is Ephesians. I always say. I don't know why. Ephesians, cornerback, Washington. And with the second fourth round pick, it's Caleb Elamzor, linebacker from TCU. All those guys fit what the lines are looking for and in those general ranges, and that tends to be the theme here. So, this is one by the way, if you're if you're listening to this on audio only, this is one where you probably wanna tune in to YouTube, just because, you know, you get the visual with it, and it's it might be tough to remember all these unless you're writing them down diligently while you're listening to this, whether you're at work or at home or at the gym. By the way, thanks for listening. I do appreciate that. We'll bring up the second scenario. This one, Monroe Freeling, offensive tackle Georgia at 17. Anthony Hill, linebacker Texas. We haven't really talked about Anthony Hill. He is the guy that fits in the Alex Anseloni role. If the lines are looking to replace that, which indeed in the scenario, they would be. Fourth round, Kieran Crawford, edge Auburn, and I'm not sure that it's credible that he would be there, but he certainly makes sense. Good good up and coming player. And Sam Rausch, tight end from Stanford, who has more than a little Eric Ebron to him, except he can block. But, good solid grit fit. He just needs to catch the ball better. That is scenario two. Freleng Hill, Crawford, and Rausch. Move on to scenario three.

Speaker 2: This one goes defense first. Kendrick Falk, Edge Auburn. Calling him an edge is somewhat disingenuous because I do think that he would also play inside some in the role that the Lions have had. John Kaminski and Josh Paschal and Marcus Davenport all play. Levi Anzuriki as well. Second round, trade on stoops, defensive back, Arizona, and I call him a defensive back because he is a safety slash corner much in the mold of Brian Branch, Christian Isian, Avante Maddox. Like, that that's their kinda guy. And, he might not be there at 50, but I kinda think he will be. You get the offensive lineman, Demetrius Crownover from Texas a and m, offensive tackle at one eighteen. He's more of a project. This would be one of those where you are relying on Larry Borom to be your starting tackle, probably right tackle with. So we'll move into the left side, which, you know, Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes have both talked about. And then Tyler Onyedim, the defensive tackle from Texas a and m, teammates with with crown over. That would be, scenario three. Bring up number four here. Caden Procter, offensive tackle Alabama, followed by Denai Dennis Sutton. Edge from Penn State at 50. We'll say, in looking at what the Packers beat writers have done, Packers freaking love Danai Gunn Sutton at 52. So this would be one of those where you're getting over on a division foe if that's something that interests you. Fourth round would be Dante Corleone, the godfather, defensive tackle from Cincinnati who, talked about this in in in recent daily. And that that's the guy that the lines have shown a lot of interest in, more than any other team has shown interest in him according to Corleone. Good fit as a run stopper, definitely fits the grit. And then BJ Payne, safety Kansas State, and I'm not sure he would be there at 01:28, but I left him in here for this purposes. You these fourth round picks, effectively, you can interchange, and it might be one of those deals where if they trade up, he would be in the nineties. If you package those two picks together, that's certainly plausible. This one is one that, all these guys are probably earlier. The the first two are probably earlier than what they go, and the second two might be later than what they go. But, again, it's an unpredictable draft. We really don't know what's gonna happen. Yeah. We still don't know what's happening at two, three, four, five, like, any of these spots, and there will be trades ahead of the lions too. But this is scenario for Procter, Dennis Sutton, Corleone, and Vijay Payne. Get the number five here.

Speaker 2: Max Ehenecker, offensive tackle from Arizona State. This is another one where you are having Borom project to start because he might not Ehenecker might not be ready. He is a developmental project, although he is, a fun one. Got a lot to like. Gabe Yacas, Edge from Illinois with the second pick. Davison, cornerback from Ohio State who is Terryon Arnold Light for better and for worse. He hit him in the fourth round. I don't think he can complain too much. And Fabici and Waiwu, interior offensive lineman, left guard, effectively, from Oklahoma. And he is one that he is a sneaky middle round value that I could absolutely say the Lions falling in love with. He certainly fits the grit as well. So that one again, Ahinacker, Yacas, Igbeneson, and and Waiwu. Kind of ignoring linebacker and safety here, but, you know, the line lions might do that. And then the last one, number six, TJ Parker, Edge Clemson, D'Angelo Ponds, cornerback Indiana. You get your offensive line with Travis Burke, offensive tackle from Memphis, right tackle only. And Keyshawn Elliott, linebacker Arizona State is a guy another one who fits in the Alex Ansel easy for me to say. Alex Anseloni rule. Got distracted by geese flying right by my window here. Sorry about that. The fun of recording these on one take, which I like to do. Don't like editing film. So this one might be early for Parker, might be late for Ponds, might be late for Burke. Who knows? But that that is the scenario. So, again, you can you can mix and match, combine from these. My final mock draft, in full disclosure, that I sent into Real GM, and it should get published sometime today. Had the lions going with Blake Miller at 17 and denied Dennis Sutton at 50. I didn't get to the fourth round. I only did the first three rounds there. I will do another lion centric mock draft, and you will see all these people listed here in some form. All the guys that I will pick for it, I will do a full seven round Lions mock draft. I will post that. It will be written content at the Detroit Lions podcast later today on Wednesday. And then Thursday is gonna be fun. We will, use the daily tomorrow to go over some of the final mock drafts that are out there that haven't been gone through yet. There will be some consternation for sure, and then, we're gonna enjoy what's supposed to be a beautiful day in the Mitten state, and, then we'll we'll get into the draft. So I'm so pumped, guys.
